Organise Contacts with Groups and Smart Groups

Groups let you organise contacts and send targeted campaigns. Instead of messaging everyone, reach exactly the right audience.

Creating a Static Group

A static group contains contacts you manually add or import into it.

1. Go to Contacts → Groups
2. Click Create Group
3. Give it a descriptive name (e.g. "VIP Customers")
4. Leave the type as Static
5. Select contacts to add, then save

Creating a Smart Group

Smart groups automatically populate based on criteria you define. The contacts update dynamically — no manual management needed.

1. Go to Contacts → Groups and click Create Group
2. Set the type to Smart
3. Configure your filter criteria:
   • Birthday Today — contacts whose birthday matches today's date
   • Birthday This Week — contacts with birthdays in the next 7 days
   • Birthday Month — all contacts born in a specific month
   • Has Email — only contacts with an email address
   • Has Birthday — only contacts with a birthday on file
   • Custom Field — match a specific custom field value (e.g. membership = "GOLD")
4. Save the group

Using Groups in Campaigns

When creating a campaign, recurring campaign, or sending a message to a group, simply select the target group from the dropdown. Only contacts matching that group will receive your message.
